Oregon allows Death with Dignity, which means a doctor may prescribe lethal drugs to a dying patient. Washington state will soon allow this practice: physician assisted suicide (PAS) is on tomorrow's ballot and expected to win.
Hawaii does not sanction the practice.
Think about it, though. The biggest boost Grandma could give Barak would be to time her dying for today. She died today. Did she purposely overdose on pain medication to help her grandson win the election? Did he say, "you can make up for your past racism by dying the day before the election"? Did she feel a duty to die?
Or, did some attendant at the hospital recognize today would be the best day for her to die? Was she helped into dying on the right day?
Was it a self-imposed duty? Sinister conspiracy? Or merely a fortunate coincidence?

Obama name yields spam
The spammers found this blog. When I changed the name of the blog to Anti-Obama, this post received innocuous spam comments. Did they find this blog because it's been up for a while or because the new name got their attention?

Birth Certificate Lawsuit Dismissed
I'm not surprised it was dismissed. The lawyer's complaint was filled with elementary grammar errors. One doesn't submit schlocky paperwork to a federal court.
I haven't read the motion or the order of dismissal yet. Here's the report I found on World Net Daily:
WND also found on microfilm in the Honolulu downtown public library a notice published under the "Births, Marriages, Deaths" section of the Honolulu Sunday Advertiser for August 13, 1961, on page B-6, noting: "Mr. and Mrs. Barack II Obama. 6085 Kalanianaole-Hwy, son, Aug. 4."In searching through the birth notices of the Honolulu Advertiser for 1961, WND found many birth notices were published between one and two weeks after the date of birth listed. The notice in the Honolulu Advertiser does not list the hospital where the Obama son was born or the doctor who delivered the baby.In a startling development, Obama's Kenyan grandmother has reportedly alleged she witnessed Obama's birth at the Coast Provincial Hospital in Mombasa, Kenya.
Friday, U.S. Federal judge Richard Barclay Surrick, a Clinton appointee, dismissed a lawsuit brought by Pennsylvania attorney Phillip J. Berg who alleged Obama was not a U.S. "natural born" citizen and therefore ineligible for the presidency under the specifications of the U.S. Constitution, under Article II, Section 1.

Lawsuit to Prove Obama's Citizenship
I was right!
Back on Aug. 24th I predicted: "I'm thinking that there's just enough to this issue to bait some group into filing a lawsuit so they can compel the Obama campaign into producing a valid birth certificate."
The lawsuit has been filed. (It was filed 8/21/08, but I just learned about it).
In the US District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, a lawyer filed a complaint against Obama, the DNC, and the FEC. He amended his complaint which you can read about here: http://www.obamacrimes.com/index.php/component/content/article/1-main/28-phil-j-berg-files-amended-complaint-in-berg-v-obama#comment-2716 .
The defense will be able to defeat any discovery requests until after the election. What crazy things will happen if Obama is elected and then found to not qualify? The ruling is unlikely to come down until after he takes the Oath of Office. And, any decision against him would be appealed. Maybe they could stretch the appeals long enough to cover his 8 years in office.
You gotta love the legal system!

A Change in Politics: Namecalling
Back in Iowa days I was so inpsired by Obama. I thought possibly he might bring a new kind of politics. Today he let me down. Obama scorned Karl Rove style politics, but 4 seconds later he called his lesser opponent a pig. The noble candidate degraded himself today by name calling. I'm so disappointed in him.

The Ultimate Gotcha
My brother hates that politics has devolved into mudslinging. I think what he's really tired of is "gotcha" politics. Politics has become a game of trivializing the other sides utterances instead of discussing policy and preferences.
But here's the real Gotcha: Obama's citizenship. Some crazy right-wingers think that Obama hasn't proved his citizenship because his campaign hasn't produced a valid birth certificate. There's a little gristle, and not much meat on those bones of accusation.
I'm predicting that some hyper-partisan group will file a lawsuit against Obama's name being listed on a ballot for President. No serious group has raised the issue yet because Obama isn't yet the nominee of the Democratic party and his name has not appeared on any ballot for President.
The question of Obama's citizenship arose months ago. I'm guessing that some well-funded group of partisans has taken advantage of these months by hiring an expensive legal team to research the issue and to venue shop. As soon as Obama's name appears on the ballot in the right jurisdiction, the well-funded partisan group will launch a lawsuit.
Obama doesn't need to prove his citizenship until he is an official candidate for President. Until now, his campaign's assertions of his citizenship were sufficient. I'm thinking that there's just enough to this issue to bait some group into filing a lawsuit so they can compel the Obama campaign into producing a valid birth certificate.
We'll see....

Biden is Boring!
I had high hopes for Obama. I don't like his politics, but I do like what he stands for: something new in American politics. Biden is so boring to me. He's another old white guy who's married to a pencil-thin blonde. Oh, and he's been a senator for almost 30 years? There's nothing fresh about that. Sigh.

Obama is an Immigrant
OK, he's 2nd generation.
The reason Barak Obama attached himself to Jeremiah Wright is because Obama needed to learn about the American black experience. Obama didn't descend from slaves. He's the product of an African national and a white woman from Kansas/Mercer Island.
How can a white woman's son who attended private schools identify with the suffering and disadvantages faced by American blacks who have to endure the legacy of slavery & Jim Crowe laws? The fast path to gaining understanding is to become involved in a black-centric church. As a bonus, membership in the church provides an organization from which to launch a political career. Obama was smart to join a black church. Unfortunately, he picked the wrong black church.
I'm very concerned that Obama, in trying to learn black culture, assimilated a lot of "hate America" ideas. I want our president to love this country. I'm not inspired by a leader who isn't inspired by the greatness of our country, even though we're not perfect.

Right Wing Conspiracy Theorists?
This story can't be true:

Censoring blogs is almost as bad as stealing your political opponent's yard signs. If you're concerned about what others say, then don't stifle their speech, speak the truth to their lies!
I'm going to use this Blogspot URL as a test case. I'm going to post a bunch of Anti-Obama rumors just to see if the linked story above is true. To contradict what I'm blogging, post your own blog, comment on this one, or visit: http://my.barackobama.com/page/content/fightthesmearshome/
